NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – eBioscience and Australian firm Anteo Diagnostics today announced a licensing deal covering Anteo's Mix&Go technology.
Anteo will supply eBioscience with its Mix&Go product for the manufacture of reagents. In return it will receive an initial upfront payment from eBioscience, fixed revenues for Mix&Go reagents supplied, and royalties on the sale of products by eBioscience using Mix&Go.
Mix&Go is a "molecular glue" that immobilizes "components of biological assays, such as antibodies, on synthetic substrates without loss of functionality," according to Anteo's website. Founded in 2005, Anteo is headquartered in Brisbane, Australia and develops surface coatings for applications in diagnostics and the life sciences.
eBioScience, based in San Diego, entered into an agreement in late 2011 to be acquired by Affymetrix. The deal is currently on hold, however, as Affy tries to put together financing for the deal. Affy recently said that it has released eBioscience from certain obligations under the terms of the proposed acquisition.
