rolling circle amplification

The company plans to launch the system this summer in Europe, aiming to broaden cell-free DNA screening for trisomy 21, 18, and 13.

The Menlo Park, California-based firm plans to launch its test, which uses rolling circle amplification, this summer in China.

The company has been quietly working on a fully automated NIPT for trisomies 21, 13, and 18 that requires neither next-gen sequencing nor microarray technology.

Magna is spearheading a public-private consortium to develop a point-of-care molecular testing platform based on magnetic nanoparticles and PCR amplification. Other partners in the consortium include the Fraunhofer Institute and Siemens.

An Olink official said that the company is particularly interested in the IP surrounding target-primed rolling circle amplification because it can enable "single cell/single molecule in situ detection of nucleic acids."

The proteomics firm will use the rolling circle amplification technologies in its nucleic acid and protein analysis tools.
