NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Rubicon Genomics today said it has reached agreements for the distribution of its DNA library preparation kits in China and obtained a license to intellectual property from the University of Michigan.

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Fluidigm today announced an agreement to develop and supply a custom version of its high-throughput library prep system to the DKMS, or the German Bone Marrow Donor Database, Life Science Lab.

Agilent Technologies said today that it has acquired Halo Genomics, a privately held Uppsala, Sweden-based provider of sample prep tools for next-generation sequencing.

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Caliper Life Sciences announced today a deal with the Center for Genome Analysis at Yale University to implement protocols for exome capture and library preparation workflows.

Under the agreement, Norwich, UK-based TGAC will serve as a "national reference site" for Caliper and will install several of the firm's instruments.

According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Illumina acquired Epicentre for $60 million in cash as well as $15 million in stock that is "subject to forfeiture if certain non-revenue based milestones are not met." In addition, Illumina will pay up to $15 million in contingent considerations based on "certain revenue-based milestones" by Jan. 10, 2013.

The partners will develop automated protocols for exome capture and library preparation workflows.

Under the agreement, the partners will co-promote each other's products and conduct application studies to showcase their use in next-generation sequencing.
