Veritas Genetics to Offer Sequencing Services in Brazil Through Genomika

NEW YORK — Veritas Intercontinental said today that it has signed an agreement to offer its whole-genome and exome sequencing services in Brazil through Recife-based genetic testing lab Genomika.

According to Veritas Intercontinental, the international subsidiary of Danvers, Massachusetts-based Veritas Genetics, the deal includes genome and exome sequencing, analysis, and interpretation services, as well as training and support to Genomika employees providing genetic counseling to end users.

Additional terms were not disclosed.

"This agreement will speed up access for the general public to complete genome sequencing … in Brazil," Veritas Intercontinental CEO Javier de Echevarría said in a statement.

Veritas' direct-to-consumer genetic testing products include the myGenome Standard whole-genome sequencing service, as well as the recently launched myGenome Premium and myGenome Diagnostic services.
