Two Taiwanese Firms Join Ion AmpliSeq Exome CSP Program

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Taiwanese firms Mission Biotech and Yourgene Bioscience have joined Life Technologies' Ion AmpliSeq Exome Certified Service Provider Program.

Mission Biotech provides genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics services to the Taiwanese research community.

Yourgene Bioscience specializes in providing next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics solutions for academic institutions and hospitals in Taiwan and the broader Asia Pacific region.

To join the AmpliSeq Exome CSP, companies must be able to sequence two exomes in a single run in two days using the Ion AmpliSeq Exome kit, the Ion Proton, and the Ion Reporter software. In addition, they must demonstrate that they can generate at least 30 million reads per exome using 50 nanograms of starting DNA, cover 88 percent to 90 percent of the exome at 20x, and do the sequencing for an all-in reagents cost of $400.

As of May, Life Technologies had 41 members in its AmpliSeq Exome CSP program.
