Takara, Formulatrix Develop Miniaturized Single-Cell Sequencing Workflows

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Takara Bio and Formulatrix today announced that they have developed standard operating procedures (SOPs) for miniaturizing reaction volumes in the reverse transcription portions of single-cell sequencing workflows.

According to the companies, the SOPs detail how to prepare and combine reagents to build Takara's SMART-Seq v4 cDNA libraries using Formulatrix's MANTIS liquid handling platform.

In a statement, Takara Bio USA President Carol Lou said the workflow allows researchers to use 25 percent of the primers and enzymes required by conventional methods, while also analyzing three to four times as many cells.
