New Products: Eurofins MWG Operon's SmartSeq kit; NCBI's RefSeq version 58

Eurofins MWG Operon has launched SmartSeq — a kit containing consumables to prepare and ship premixed samples for customers outsourcing their sequencing projects to Eurofins MWG Operon's core sequencing facility.

The kit contains 96 pre-labeled 2D matrix tubes in a pre-barcoded rack for identification, tube lids, and a sample preparation guide.


The National Center for Biotechnology Information has released RefSeq version 58, available via FTP.

The release includes genomic, transcript, and protein data available, as of March 11, 2013, and includes 36,938,203 records, 30,489,893 proteins, 3,345,543 RNAs, and sequences from 22,460 different organisms.
