NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – SomaGenics announced today that it has licensed its RealSeq-AC small RNA sequencing library preparation technology to Rubicon Genomics.
According to SomaGenics, the technology uses a novel adapter design and specific enzymatic steps to reduce library preparation bias to intramolecular RNA folding and adapter dimers, thereby improving quantification of small RNAs such as microRNAs.
Specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"We are very pleased to add SomaGenics' technology to Rubicon's proprietary suite of products as they nicely complement and expand our RNA offerings," Rubicon CEO James Koziarz said in a statement. "The RealSeq-AC technology allows us to further expand our RNA library preparation line with a product that offers performance superior to existing technologies."
