23andMe has appointed Ruben Mesa as scientific advisor of its myeloproliferative neoplasms research project advisory board. Mesa is currently a professor of medicine and chair of the division of hematology and medical oncology at the Mayo Clinic. He holds a BS in nuclear engineering and physiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MD from the Mayo Clinic.
