Molecular diagnostic company Asuragen has appointed Rollie Carlson to president and CEO, replacing founder Matt Winkler, who will retain the role of chairman of the board and chief scientific officer.

Carlson was previously the president and chief operating officer of Asuragen. Prior to joining the company in 2006, he held several positions at Abbott Laboratories, including vice president and general manager of the Vysis molecular diagnostic business following its acquisition by Abbott.


Foundation Medicine has appointed Evan Jones to its board of directors. He is managing member of jVen Capital and was previously the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Digene.
