Mayo Clinic added Catherine Ivy to its Arizona Leadership Council. Ivy is the founder and president of the Ben & Catherine Ivy Foundation, a brain cancer research foundation based in Phoenix. She will serve a three-year term on the council, which is an advisory and philanthropic group advocating for Mayo Clinic.
NantHealth has appointed several new members to its management team. Steve Curd, a former COO of WebMd, chief information officer of United Healthcare, and CEO of VantageMed, has joined the firm as COO. Laura Beggrow has joined the firm as executive VP of commercialization. She previously served as president of Strand Diagnostics, and prior to that she was VP of US sales and marketing at Genomic Health.
Other appointments included Stevie Davidson as senior VP of professional services; Michael Davis as senior VP of corporate strategy and business; Shannon Hastings as senior VP of product engineering; Mark Heinemeyer as senior VP of product management; Vasu Randagass as senior VP of strategy and research; Paul Fowler as senior VP of client services; Siew Yong Sim-Tang as VP of strategic planning; and Martin Walsh as VP and GM, UK.
Molecular diagnostics firm AltheaDx has appointed Bruce Bodaken, Karin Eastham, and Jorge Garces to its board of directors.
Bodaken served as chairman and CEO of Blue Shield of California from January 2000 to December 2012, and currently serves on the boards of directors of Rite Aid and WageWorks. He also is on the board of directors of the Institute of Medicine's Roundtable on Value and Science-Driven Healthcare, and is a visiting scholar at the Brookings Institution.
Eastham serves on the boards of directors of lllumina, Veracyte, MorphoSys, and Geron. She previously was executive VP, COO, and a member of the board of trustees of the Burnham Institute for Medical Research.
Garces has been president of AltheaDx since February 2014 and the firm's COO since June 2013. Prior to joining AltheaDx, he was senior VP of R&D at GenMark Diagnostics, CEO and president of Enigma Diagnostics, and VP and site operations manager of Hologic.
