Pacific Biosciences has named David Botstein to its board of directors.
Botstein is director of the Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics and Anthony B. Evnin Professor of Genomics at Princeton University, a position he has held since 2003. Prior to that, he was chairman of the department of genetics at Stanford University and before that he served as vice president for science at Genentech, where he currently serves on the company's scientific resource board.
Hugh Martin, former president and CEO of Pacific Biosciences, is now chairman and CEO of Xeralux, a manufacturer of LED retrofit kits. He joined the firm in April of this year.
Martin led PacBio from 2004 until January of this year, when he resigned and was replaced by Michael Hunkapiller. He resigned from the company's board in April.
