Pacific Biosciences has named David Botstein to its board of directors.

Botstein is director of the Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics and Anthony B. Evnin Professor of Genomics at Princeton University, a position he has held since 2003. Prior to that, he was chairman of the department of genetics at Stanford University and before that he served as vice president for science at Genentech, where he currently serves on the company's scientific resource board.
