Michael Egholm has left his post as chief technology officer and vice president of research and development at 454 Life Sciences, a unit of Roche, to become chief technology officer of Pall, which provides filtration, separation, and purification products.

Todd Arnold has been promoted to vice president of development at 454 and will lead the firm's product development efforts "as we continue to launch innovative, enabling products for the sequencing market," according to a 454 spokesperson. Arnold joined 454 almost four years ago from 3M.


Heiner Dreismann has been elected to the board of directors of Myriad Genetics. From 1985 until 2006, he held several positions at Roche, including president and CEO of Roche Molecular Systems and head of global business develop of Roche Diagnostics, and was a member of Roche's global diagnostic executive committee. Dreismann holds an MS in biology and a PhD in microbiology and molecular biology from the University of Münster in Germany.
