Danaher has appointed Elias Zerhouni as a member of its board of directors. His initial term will expire at the company's 2011 annual meeting of shareholders. Zerhouni is a senior advisor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a senior fellow of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Global Health Program. From 2002 until 2008, he was director of the National Institutes of Health. Prior to that, he was a professor of radiology at Johns Hopkins University. Zerhouni holds a medical degree from the University of Algiers.
