NEW YORK – Oxford Nanopore Technologies has raised £195 million ($271 million), IP Group, an early investor in the firm, said on Tuesday. The new round brings the total raised by the nanopore sequencing company to date to £808 million.
New investors Temasek, Wellington Management, M&G Investments, and Nikon contributed £125 million to the round while existing shareholders invested £70 million. IP Group said it committed £18.7 million to the round, giving it a 14.5 percent stake, valued at £359 million, in Oxford Nanopore.
In late March, the firm said it plans an initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange later this year.
