New Products: Sage Science's Pippin Link and Pippin Pulse; RefSeq v57

Sage Science has launched Pippin Link and Pippin Pulse for library prep workflow. Pippin Link is an accessory for Pippin Prep and BluePippin that lets users boost throughput by connecting up to eight instruments and controlling them from a single computer. Pippin Pulse is a pulsed-field electrophoresis power supply for analytical gels. The new tools are designed to be compatible with the company's Pippin line of automated DNA size selection products.


The National Center of Biotechnology Information has released version 57 of RefSeq, available here, via FTP. The release includes genomic, transcript, and protein data as of Jan. 8. It includes 34,158,511 records, 27,834,581 proteins, 3,267,605 RNAs, and sequences from 21,415 different organisms.
