Laboratory Corporation of America has launched GeneSeq: Cardio, a next-gen sequencing-based test for genetic causes of familial cardiac disease.

According to the company, the test could help identify individuals who may require regular cardiac screening, lifestyle changes, or clinical intervention to prevent the progression of cardiac disease.

The company did not provide details about the genes included in the assay or which sequencing platform it is using for the test.
