The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute has released version 66 of COSMIC, the Catalog of Somatic Mutations in Cancer. The latest release includes the curation of cancer genes TCSC1 and TCSC2, four new gene fusion pairs, 17 whole-genome sequencing publications, and updates from the International Cancer Genome Consortium and The Cancer Genome Atlas. COSMIC now contains a total of 7,677 whole-genome sequencing samples.

Additionally, 17 new genes have been added to the Cancer Gene Cenusus, a list of genes with significant proof that they contribute to human cancer.
