The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute has released version 60 of COSMIC, the Catalog of Somatic Mutations in Cancer. The latest release includes the first full version of the new website, nine new systematic screens, and updates to the mutation spectra of known cancer genes. This version of COSMIC and the next will focus on updating existing curated genes.

The new website contains three parallel web systems: the main COSMIC site, the Cell Lines Project site, and a new Genomes site that replaced the Cancer Genome Project site.

In total, version 60 of COSMIC contains 340,585 mutations from 21,850 genes from 743,601 samples.
