New Products: COSMIC: Jan 18, 2012


The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute has released version 57 of COSMIC, the Catalog of Somatic Mutations in Cancer. The new version includes one new cancer gene (NFE2L2), 12 new fusion gene pairs, and data from eight recent genome-wide screens.

In addition, the COSMIC team has added six new cancer genes (FAM46C, FBXO11, HEY1, SRSF2, U2AF1, and ZRSR2) to the catalog's cancer gene census, bringing the total number of cancer-related genes in the resource to 473.
