Bioo Scientific has launched NextFlex Small RNA-seq Kit v2. The kit incorporates randomized adapters during library prep in order to reduce ligation bias. Users can create libraries with isolated small RNAs, microRNAs, or total RNA. The protocol uses an adapter depletion solution in order to reduce adapter dimer formation. Barcoded primers are available separately and allow up to 48 samples to be multiplexed.
Cellular Research has launched an early access program for its Precise Assay, a targeted RNA-seq product that uses the firm's Molecular Indexing technology. The assay is designed for precious or rare samples, and combines molecular and sample indexing in 96 and 384 sample formats, enabling users to sequence up to 2,000 samples on one sequencing run. Seven Bridges Genomics will enable analysis via its cloud-based platform.
Researchers at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute have upgraded Samtools. The upgraded version allows researchers to easily compress, share and analyze genomic sequence data. The new version also supports standard genomic data formats, including CRAM. Samtools 1.0 is available free for download here.
