Epicentre Biotechnologies has launched the ScriptSeq mRNA-seq library preparation kit, which is compatible with Illumina sequencing platforms. The kits uses a terminal-tagging technology that simplifies strand-specific tagging and preparing directional mRNA-seq libraries from as little as 50 nanograms of rRNA-depleted or poly(A)-RNA. According to the company, adaptor-tagged libraries can be produced in about three hours, and the protocol involves no end-repair, adaptor ligations, cDNA shearing, or gel electrophoresis.
