SoftGenetics has launched a new module for its NextGene software that enables the analysis of small RNA molecules from short-read sequences. The module, in combination with the company's Condensation Tool, uses sequencing reads from second-generation sequencing systems, including the Illumina GA, ABI SOLiD, and Roche/454 GS FLX, to "statistically polish the data and increase the base call accuracy up to 99.5 percent," according to the company.
