SoftGenetics has added a barcode tool to its second-generation sequence analysis software, NextGene. The new tool is compatible with data generated by the
Applied Biosystems SOLiD system, Illumina Genome Analyzer, and Roche/454 Life Sciences Genome Sequencer FLX, including 454's recent Titanium upgrade. Following barcode sorting, the software performs various analyses, including SNP/indel detection, SAGE, and de novo assembly.
