The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute has released version 55 of COSMIC, the Catalogue of Somatic Mutations in Cancer. The new version includes new curations of the tumor suppressor gene PRDM1, fusions of CRTC1/CRTC3-MAML2, and three new systematic screen publications. Additionally, a new release of the Cancer Gene Census raises the number of known cancer genes to 464. Recently added genes include SF3B1, ARID2, CCNE1, CDK12, FUBP1, XPO1, and MED12.
