LifeLabs to Distribute Natera's Panorama NIPD in Canada

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Natera and LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services today announced a deal to distribute the Panorama non-invasive prenatal diagnostic test in Canada.

Natera's test was launched in March for the detection of trisomy 21, 18, and 13 and some sex chromosome abnormalities. Last month, detection of triploidy was added to the test.

Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We continue to gain momentum with our global rollout by partnering with leading organizations, such as LifeLabs, and are glad to now expand into Canada," Natera CEO Matthew Rabinowitz said in a statement.

Last month, DASA Group and Natera reached a deal to offer Panorama in Brazil, and Natera inked a deal with Unilabs to bring the test to Switzerland and Scandinavia.

Last week, Illumina said it signed a supply agreement with Natera for Illumina's HiSeq 2500 next-generation sequencing platform and associated Illumina consumables.
