Lee Hood, Peter Roberts, Hans Peter Fatscher

Lee Hood, president of the Institute for Systems Biology, has joined the board of directors of NimbleGen Systems. Hood will also serve as chair on the company’s scientific advisory board. Hood is also on the scientific advisory board of Helicos BioSciences, among other companies.

Peter Roberts has been promoted to director of sciences at VizX Labs, the Seattle-based microarray analysis company said last week.
Roberts formerly was senior manager of bioinformatics at Celera Genomics, and worked in microbiology research at Serono, Genzyme, and at the US Department of Agriculture.

Qiagen has promoted Hans Peter Fatscher to vice president of life sciences sales, the company said last week.
In his new position, Fatscher will be responsible for North American life science sales and will work to standardize the company’s life sciences commercial processes in North America.
