Good Start Genetics Signs Coverage Agreement with BCBS of Texas

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Good Start Genetics announced today that it has signed a coverage agreement with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas for its carrier screening tests.

With this and other coverage contracts, the company said that it now has payor coverage for more than 130 million individuals.

A company official declined to provide details about the BCBS deal.

"The timing of this milestone is especially rewarding as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists just recently updated its medical guidelines to include recommended screening for additional important disorders for which we have been providing the highest quality testing since 2012," Good Start Genetics President and CEO Jeffrey Luber said in a statement.
