GATC Sequencing Facility Receives ISO 17025 Accreditation

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – GATC Biotech today said that it has received ISO 17025 accreditation for its next-generation sequencing laboratories from Germany's national accreditation organization.

GATC said the accreditation from the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle, or DAkkS, acknowledges the quality of its services based on Illumina's HiSeq and Roche's 454 GS FLX instruments. The accreditation "allows all customers to compare the quality of service providers on the international sequencing market," Marcus Benz, COO of GATC, said in a statement.

Accreditation became official in June and has been confirmed by audits, the Konstanz, Germany-based company said. A year ago, GATC announced the expansion of its sequencing operations.
