GATC Installs 454's FLX in its German Sequencing Shop

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) — GATC Biotech installed 454’s Genome Sequencer FLX System in its core lab in Konstanz, Germany, last month, GATC said today.

GATC, which reported in January it had purchased the FLX together with a Solexa 1G Genetic Analyzer, said it will use the FLX to focus on “in-depth analysis of whole transcriptomes,” but also will provide customers with all available FLX applications.

The company said in January it has pumped $1.5 million worth of sequencing tools into its Konstanz lab, where it will offer sample preparation, sequencing, and bioinformatics services.
