DNA service provider Eurofins MWG Operon and German bioinformatics firm Genomatix Software have teamed up to provide genome analysis and resequencing project services, the companies said last week.

Under the exclusive partnership, which builds on previous collaborations on several projects, the firms will offer next-gen sequencing as well as read mapping, analysis of ChIP-seq and digital gene expression data, and annotation services, according to the Eurofins website.

Eurofins MWG Operon, which resulted from the merger of MWG Biotech, Operon Biotechnologies, and Medigenomix, provides DNA sequencing and oligonucleotide synthesis services. The company, which has headquarters in Ebersberg, Germany, and Huntsville, Ala., provides next-generation sequencing services on the 454 GS FLX and Illumina GA platforms, according to its website.

Genomatix Software, headquartered in Munich, offers data analysis solutions for next-generation sequencing called Genomatix Genome Analyzer and Genomatix Mining Station.
