Elsevier, Epicentre

Elsevier said last week that it will launch a new journal, Marine Genomics, in March 2008. The journal will be published quarterly, and will focus on “advances in the very rapidly expanding field of genomic studies on marine organisms,” Elsevier said. William Martin, group director at Heinrich-Heine University in Düsseldorf, Germany, will be the co-editor of the new journal.

Epicentre has launched its MasterAmp Extra-Long PCR Kit, which enables one-step amplification of DNA sequences from 20 kb to about 40 kb, the company said.

The kit contains the MasterAmp Extra-Long DNA Polymerase Mix along with nine MasterAmp Extra-Long PCR 2X PreMixes containing dNTPs, buffer, and MgCl2; and the MasterAmp PCR Enhancer.
