Dovetail Genomics Signs Distribution Deals for Asia-Pacific Markets

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) — Dovetail Genomics announced today that it has signed new distribution agreements for its genomics products and services in various Asian-Pacific markets.

Dovetail, based in Santa Cruz, California, offers genome assembly services for plant, animal, and microbial genomes based on its proprietary proximity ligation and sequencing protocol. Its service options include full de novo assembly using Illumina or Pacific Biosciences sequencing, or assembly improvement. The company also recently launched a Hi-C kit for generating chromosome-scale assemblies in house.

Under the terms of the deals, Dovetail's offerings will be sold by Premas Life Sciences in India; Millennium Science in Australia and New Zealand; Genomics Bioscience in Taiwan; Ultravision Technology and Shanghai Biozeron Biotechnology in China; Bio-Active in Thailand; and Biomedic Science Material in Vietnam.

"Expanding our global reach through strong regional partners is key to our strategy as we continue to advance our long-range genomics product and service offerings into human translational research and eventually clinical research markets," Veronica Mankinen, vice president of commercial operations at Dovetail, said in a statement.

In mid-2017, Dovetail inked a distribution deal with Tree Code covering Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Myanmar. It also has distribution arrangements with Daon BioSciences for South Korea and Tomy Digital Biology for Japan.
