DNAStar, Epicentre Biotechnologies

DNAStar has released Lasergene v7.2, which includes enhanced assembly and visualization capabilities for traditional and next-generation sequencing platforms.
The sequence analysis software package allows users to assemble bacterial-size genomes using the 454 Life Sciences platform and to generate flowgrams with the same software they use for smaller assemblies, DNAStar said.
The software is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Mac OS 10.3 or higher.

Epicentre Biotechnologies has released the MaxPlax Lambda Packaging Extracts, a system designed for in vitro packaging of any vector containing cos sites. The packaging extracts are supplied as predispensed single-tube reactions that require no premixing before use, the company said. The extracts have no known restriction activities and have been optimized for packaging of methylated and unmethylated DNA.
