NEW YORK — Direct-to-consumer DNA testing company MyDNA said on Thursday that it has merged with genetic testing firm Gene by Gene.
Houston, Texas-based Gene by Gene and its FamilyTreeDNA division, which were founded in 2000, offer a range of genetic testing services, including for ancestry, forensics, paternity, and, more recently, COVID-19. Melbourne, Australia-based MyDNA markets genetic wellness tests related to nutrition, fitness, and skincare.
Under the terms of the deal, MyDNA CEO Lior Rauchberger will become the chief executive of the merged company. Gene by Gene cofounders Bennett Greenspan and Max Blankfeld will join the new company's board of directors.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
