Complete Genomics Inks Deals With Human Cell Atlas Project, BioTuring for Spatial Bio Products

NEW YORK – Complete Genomics said Tuesday that it has entered separate partnerships with the Human Cell Atlas (HCA) consortium and bioinformatics firm BioTuring to enhance the company's spatial biology offerings to customers.

As part of its partnership with the HCA, Complete Genomics will join HCA's commercial discount program to expand access to the company's STOmics products for HCA researchers in North America. The company did not disclose the details of the discount for HCA members.

For its deal with BioTuring, Complete Genomics will offer customers using the STOmics products access to pre-optimized analysis pipelines within SpatialX, a deep-learning tool developed by BioTuring for spatial data analysis and visualization.

“Because bioinformatics can be a pain point for adoption of spatial technologies for some customers, we're excited to partner with BioTuring to speed up spatial data analysis to help catalyze biological discovery,” Rob Tarbox, VP of product and marketing at Complete Genomics, said in a statement.

Additionally, Complete Genomics said it has added the STOmics Go Optical Microscope to its spatial product portfolio. With a scanning area of 70 mm x 100 mm, Go Optical can support all STOmics chip sizes, including large-format chips, and is "designed to meet the imaging needs of any spatial transcriptomics workflows," Complete Genomics said.

Complete Genomics became the exclusive US distributor of STOmics Tech last July. A BGI Group subsidiary, STOmics Tech has commercialized the Stereo-seq technology developed by BGI researchers and is continuing to release more products to complement the technology.
