Sequencing service provider Cofactor Genomics has partnered with bioinformatics firm Novocraft Technologies in Malaysia to provide next-gen sequencing and analysis services to customers in Southeast Asia, the company said last week.

Under the agreement, St. Louis, Mo.-based Cofactor Genomics will provide customers with sequencing services, using its Illumina and Applied Biosystems SOLiD sequencing platforms, and Kuala Lumpur-based Novocraft will analyze the data using its own bioinformatics tools.

Cofactor Genomics, which uses both commercial and proprietary software to analyze its sequence data, said it has already been using several of Novocraft's tools in house.

According to its website, Novocraft specializes in the development of tools for comparative genomics, its primary product being an aligner for data from the Illumina Genome Analyzer.
