OA Policy Clash

Research studies funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation can't be published in a number of high-profile journals because of conflicts between the foundation's and journals' open-access policies, Nature News reports. Currently, Gates-funded scientists cannot publish in NatureScience, the New England Journal of Medicine, or the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, it says.
