Speakers named Michael outnumbered female CEO speakers at JP Morgan Healthcare Conference last year, but won't this year, according to Stat News. This year, it notes, there are to be 33 female CEOs giving presentations, but only 19 Michaels.
There is still a large speaker gender gap. Ninety percent of the more than 550 executives giving corporate updates will be men, and men will be 73 percent of the speakers for the special sessions, according to Stat News' count. Another 22 women with titles chief financial officer or vice president will also speak, but alongside male colleagues, it adds.
It notes that JP Morgan doesn't select who gives the corporate updates — the companies do — but is involved in choosing the special session speakers.
