Thermo Fisher Scientific to Sell 908 Devices' ZipChip

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – 908 Devices said today that it has signed a value-added reseller agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific.

The co-exclusive, two-year deal allows Thermo Fisher to sell 908's ZipChip as a complementary front-end separations platform with its own High Resolution Accurate Mass (HRAM) mass spectrometry instruments.

Trent Basarsky, 908's vice president and general manager of life sciences, said in a statement that Thermo Fisher's sales channel will significantly increase the availability of ZipChip. Under the terms of the agreement, both companies can now sell the platform, and both will provide support for customers.

Further terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Using integrated microfluidic technology, ZipChip prepares, separates and electrosprays biological samples directly into traditional MS instruments. Users of the Thermo Scientific Q Exactive series, Orbitrap Elite, and LTQ Orbitrap XL instruments all have the potential to benefit from incorporating the separation platform into their MS analyses, 908 said.
