NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – The Salk Institute for Biological Studies has received a $25 million donation from Conrad Prebys that it plans to add to its ongoing Campaign for Salk fundraising effort.

Salk launched the campaign, its first such fundraising effort, in 2012 with the aim of raising $300 million by July 2015 to invest in new technologies, fund research projects, and recruit new scientists. The gift from Prebys, a Salk trustee, brings its total fundraising tally to $275 million.
