Roche Applied Science has recently introduced the X-tremeGene siRNA transfection reagent.
According to the company, the reagent is an optimized formulation that forms a complex with siRNA, as well as with mixtures of siRNA and plasmid DNA. The transfection complex efficiently delivers the nucleic acids into animal cells to induce gene silencing, achieving more than 90 percent knockdown in many cell types, the company added.
