Qiagen, Sigma-Aldrich

Qiagen has recently launched the miScript System, which allows for the detection and quantification of miRNA, as well as mRNA and other small RNA, using SYBR Green-based rtPCR.

With the system, researchers can quantify multiple miRNAs from a single cDNA synthesis reaction, Qiagen said. Both miRNA and mRNA can be quantified from the same cDNA synthesis reaction, the company added.

Sigma-Aldrich said that its Mission siRNA libraries are now incorporating Rosetta Inpharmatics’ siRNA design algorithm.

By designing its siRNAs using the algorithm, Sigma-Aldrich said it guarantees that two out of three siRNA duplexes per target gene will achieve knockdown efficiencies of greater than or equal to 75 percent.
