Benitec has named Peter French as its new CSO.

French, who will work for Benitec on a part-time basis initially, holds a PhD from Australia's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, and has an MBA in technology management, according to the company.

He is also chief scientist and innovation manager at biotech firm Fermiscan.

MDRNA has recently appointed Peter Garcia as its CFO.

Garcia previously served as CFO of Nanosys, a private nanotechnology firm, and had been senior vice president and CFO of Nuvelo, a private biopharmaceutical company. He previously was CFO at Novacept, IntraBiotics, and Dendreon.

He has an MBA from the Anderson School at University of California, Los Angeles, and a BA in economics and sociology from Stanford University.
