Marina Issued Japanese Patent on Delivery Tech

Marina Biotech this week announced that it has been issued a patent by the Japanese Patent Office covering a proprietary nucleic acid condensing and delivery peptide motif, as well as its use with therapeutic nucleic acids.

The patent, application No. 2007-509522, "significantly enhances the company's … intellectual property portfolio covering key platform technologies including siRNA constructs, delivery and chemistry used for the development of RNAi-based therapeutics," Marina President and CEO Michael French said in a statement. "We expect to see continued issuances in our patent estate."
