John McKinley

Benitec said last week that former chairman and CEO John McKinley has resigned as a non-executive director of the company.

In January, McKinley stepped down as the head of Benitec amid a series of contentious patent-infringement lawsuits the company initiated against other RNAi companies (see RNAi News, 1/21/2005).

McKinley had stayed with Benitec as a non-executive director, but the company said last week that his recent appointment as chairman of an undisclosed UK-based company interfered with his abilities to "attend to the affairs of Benitec."
