Ambion has recently introduced the Pre-miR miRNA starter kit, which is designed for “controlling and optimizing miRNA gain-of-function experiments in human cells mediated by synthetic miRNA mimics.”
 
According to the company, the kit includes positive and negative control Pre-miR miRNA precursors, which are chemically modified double-stranded RNA molecules designed to mimic endogenous mature miRNA molecules, as well as a transfection agent.
