S. Wayne Kay, Thomas Umbel, and more

OncoGenesis has appointed S. Wayne Kay its president and COO effective Sept. 1. Also, Nico Arnold has joined the multiplex molecular cervical cancer screening firm as senior vice president, business and market development, and Brian Sunkel was appointed vice president, marketing and business development. 

Kay replaces Thomas Umbel, who will remain on OncoGenesis' board. Kay was most recently the founding president and CEO of Wireless Diagnostic Systems and s2a Molecular. Both are spinouts of the California Institute of Technology. 

Arnold has more than 30 years of experience in the diagnostics industry and was previously executive vice president, global commercial operations for Cepheid. Sunkel brings more than 25 years of experience in commercializing new technologies. He was director of international sales and marketing at Adeza Biomedical when it was acquired by Cytyc/Hologic.
