Mark Smits is resigning from Quidel as senior VP of commercial operations for North America, effective June 30, after which he will remain an "at-will" employee at the firm through his start date with another firm, or Oct. 10, whichever occurs first. Starting July 1, Smits will be a special advisor to Quidel CEO Douglas Bryant.
