Juan-Sebastian Saldivar, Mark Gold

AltheaDx has appointed Juan-Sebastian Saldivar as chief medical officer and Mark Gold to its board of directors.

Saldivar joins AltheaDx from Sequenom, where he was vice president of clinical services and medical affairs. Previously, he was director of molecular diagnostics and a clinical associate professor in the department of pathology at City of Hope National Medical Center. He also served as director of clinical laboratory services at Perlegen Sciences.

Gold was a distinguished professor in neuroscience and chairman at the University of Florida from 1990 until he retired in June 2014. He has also served as a consultant to banks, private equity firms, global pharmaceutical companies, and venture capital firms on devices, pharmaceuticals and health care delivery. He has served on the board of directors of Viewray and AxoGen.
